Boxing Coaching

My Boxing journey began in 2008 when I left Rehabilitation for Drug and Alcohol addiction and checked myself into a homeless shelter for men in recovery. It was then that I met my first and only boxing coach Ian Esientrager who taught me a trade and gave me direction in many areas of my life.

I wanted to progress in my boxing and compete at a level but, due to circumstances regarding my past, I was unable to. I did the next best thing: that was to become a coach and empower many others in this great sport, from youth to adults.
Boxing is one of the toughest sports. You need every physical and mental ability to be successful.

Strength, power, stamina, fitness, desire, willingness, balance, mindset and a great strength and conditioning coach to meet the needs of a boxer and create the right training plans.
I have a vast amount of experience when it comes to boxing. I can draw from my own experiences and from my coaching experiences, having been involved in:

  • Various boxing programs
  • Working alongside professional boxers and doing the corner
  • Adult and youth boxing coach for Eisey's gym
  • White-collar boxing coach
  • Various boxing shows and training programs
  • Pad man and fitness coach

The power produced during the Olympic lift makes them a great choice for coaches wanting to improve an athlete’s power output.

As well as being great for producing power they have high energy demands they are great for full body training.
As a qualified Olympic lifting coach I will coach you effectively and as efficiently as possible and show you how you can integrate them into your program for maximum performance improvement for sport specific to your chosen sport to empower you to reach your full potential.

There are two competition lifts Olympic Weightlifting and I will teach you both.

The Snatch: This is one continuous movement from a platform to a locked-out, overhead position.

The Clean and Jerk: This involves two stages. Clean, to the shoulders and Jerk, overhead.

These two lifts are the ultimate in explosive strength training. Speed, co-ordination, balance and flexibility will all improve when you train in these disciplines. It’s a great program to undertake, whatever your aim. The movements are very technical and take years to perfect, but with the right training there is no reason why you can’t succeed.

Before starting any programme, you must have a start point to go with and an end goal in mind.

With all clients and athletes, I perform a movement screening and assessment this will develop a clearer picture of what the client or athlete needs and what exercises are suitable for the individuals to reach their peak performance.
